Boise, Idaho – More than 1,000 people are expected at the Boise Centre on the Grove Plaza this Thursday morning, August 28, as United Way of Treasure Valley kicks-off its 2008 Community Campaign with the first annual Flapjack Feed. The event begins at 7:30am and runs until 10:00am. Admission is just $5. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Along with live entertainment and door prizes, the event will feature more than 50 business and community leaders taking a turn flipping flapjacks to show their support for United Way. The line-up includes Governor Butch Otter, First Lady of Idaho Lori Otter, Congressman Mike Simpson, Congressman Bill Sali, Idaho Secretary of State Ben Ysursa, State Controller Donna Jones and BSU Coaches Greg Patton – Tennis, and Greg Graham – Basketball, just to name a few.  

WHAT:  First Annual United Way Campaign Kick-Off Flapjack Feed. Cost is $5 – all you can eat. No advance ticket purchase is necessary. The event kicks off the 2008-09 United Way Community Campaign. This year’s campaign goal is $6 million; dollars that will be invested exclusively in the Treasure Valley working to improve lives of people right here in our community.  

WHERE:  Boise Centre on the Grove Outdoor Plaza.  
WHEN:  Thursday, August 28, 2008, 7:30 to 10:00am
Photo opportunities available with more than 50 Guest Pancake Flippers,plus live entertainment on the main stage and raffle prizes including a Nintendo Wii. 
WHO:  More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the breakfast including business, government and community leaders. The entire community is invited.
