Together, United Way and the community partners you see here are disrupting the cycle of poverty through focused attention on Financial Stability.

 
With an estimated 34,619 people living in poverty in Ada County and another 27,805 people living in poverty in Canyon County, we have over 62,425 people living in poverty in the Treasure Valley.  Poverty rates vary greatly when we compare variables such as location and age and a large percentage of those living in poverty are children under the age of 18.

Thanks to the thousands of individuals who donate to the Community Fund.  You helped:
  • 243 low-income individuals acquired the basic skills necessary for getting and retaining jobs, many while overcoming homelessness and language barriers
  • 27,764 low-income adults and children experienced increased access to nutritious food
  • 2,818 low-income individuals increased or maintained their independence and financial stability
  • 1,767 low-income individuals and families preserved their safety and security by escaping an abusive situation or homelessness
  • 624 low-income residents moved out of homelessness into safe, affordable housing and returned to self-sufficiency
