  • 6,200 students
  • 11 schools , including two high schools and a freshman academy
  • About 800 employees , including 340 teachers
  • 56 percent Latino student body
  • 78 percent of Caldwell students live below the poverty line
  • 72 percent graduated from high school — TVEP, 2010
  • 23 percent went on to college — TVEP, 2010

Benchmarks

  • Double the post-secondary go-on rate to 50 percent in 2014-15
  • 100 percent of third graders will be proficient in reading on the IRI tests in 2014-15
  • (Fall 2010 IRI results — K: 46 percent scored 1; 25 percent scored 2; 29 percent scored 3)
  • IRI testing in kindergarten and third grade and ISAT testing in grades 3, 5, 8 and 10
  • Increase the graduation rate in Caldwell to 100 percent

Funding And Investments

  • Nearly $1 million has been invested in this project with a four-year cost of $4.2 million
  • The J .A and Kathryn Albertson Foundation has donated $400,000 to cover first-year costs 
  • United Way of the Treasure Valley has committed to investing $500,000 spread over 2-4 years
