Together, United Way and the community partners you see here are disrupting the cycle of poverty through focused attention on Health.

With over 80,000 people estimated living in poverty in the Treasure Valley, it would mean that the number has increased by around 20,000 just in two years.  We know that many people are choosing between visiting a doctor and buying groceries or paying rent.  Our partners are focusing on creating medical homes for patients and seeking new ways to be more effective in medical, dental and counseling services.

United Way of Treasure Valley made providing services for over 17,000 people in the Valley struggling with at least one chemical addiction a priority.  Through collaborative efforts with other community partners, Allumbaugh House became a reality.

During the first year of operation, Allumbaugh House facilitated over 1,400 admissions.  Sixty-three percent of these submissions were Detox, thirty-one percent were mental health and six percent were for sobering.

Thanks to the thousands of individuals who donate to the Community Fund.  You have helped:

  • Total # of low-income clients has access to affordable substance abuse treatment - 67
  • Total # of low-income clients have access to improved health (Dental, Medical or Mental) – 2580
  • Total # of low-income clients maintain sobriety – 176
