David Duro

United Way and the Treasure Valley YMCA have built a longstanding partnership to help children learn, grow and succeed.

David, at the helm of the local YMCA, wants to continue that.

“I have donated to and volunteered for United Way for 34 years because I have seen the life-long impact this work does,” David said. “I give because my gift makes a difference to an individual, which strengthens my community and changes the world.”

Through three-plus decades of working in the nonprofit sector and supporting United Way, David has personal experience witnessing the powerful impact United Way and its partner agencies have on local children.

“My favorite part about United Way is knowing the stories of specific individuals and the change that is possible,” David said. “Donations to the United Way Community Fund allow us to provide free or reduced fees for child development services to children from infants to sixth grade. Data reiterates that reading and math skills improve, family relationships are strengthened and children have a higher sense of achievement and self-esteem.”

David + United Way = Healthy children.
