Idaho CapEd donates $15,000 to Caldwell P16 preschool

The Idaho CapEd Foundation made a $15,000 donation to United Way of Treasure Valley on Tuesday, in support of the P16 Caldwell Education Project.

P16, which stands for preschool through the 16th grade (or four years of postsecondary education), provides high-quality, early learning opportunities to children in Caldwell.

The P16 initiative is a collaboration between the Caldwell School District, the YMCA, Lee Pesky Learning Center, United Way of Treasure Valley and many other community partners.

The check was presented Tuesday morning by CapEd officials to United Way at Sacajawea Elementary in Caldwell. The donation will help provide scholarships to allow children to attend preschool.

“This generous donation from CapEd is a game-changer for kids and families in Caldwell,” said Nora Carpenter, president and CEO of United Way of Treasure Valley. “This will help ensure more local children and families have more equitable access to early learning opportunities.”
