Corey Surber of Saint Alphonsus named Board Chair

BOISE, Idaho — Corey Surber was named the new chair of United Way of Treasure Valley’s Board of Directors this month. Surber is the director of state advocacy for Saint Alphonsus Health System and its parent company, Trinity Health.

Surber, who has been on the United Way Board of Directors since 2010, will serve a two-year term as chair. Surber replaces the previous chair, Jennifer Reynolds, vice president and district manager at U.S. Bank.

“Corey is an incredible leader in our community, especially in the health sector, and we are thrilled to have her serve as our new chair,” said Nora Carpenter, president and CEO of United Way of Treasure Valley. “We are thankful for Jennifer’s outstanding service over the past two years, as she led United Way to impact more than 200,000 people in the Treasure Valley through multiple health, education and financial stability programs and initiatives.”

Surber earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Idaho and a master’s degree from Boise State University, where she serves as an adjunct instructor in the College of Health Sciences.

United Way’s 19-member Board of Directors includes a diverse group of community and business leaders who oversee United Way’s fundraising and volunteer efforts, collective impact and financial information, while setting the direction for the organization.
