Every investment we make follows a thoughtful process. We prioritize impactful work in the right places at the right times, using local data to align partners and direct resources effectively.
We start by understanding our community's needs through evidence-based data. This helps us see what families face, from financial struggles to health access, guiding our decisions effectively.

Our Community Investment process directs funds to impactful local programs. Each grant is evaluated by our Vision Council, ensuring diversity and relevance. In FY2024, we allocated $715,000 to 31 programs across 28 organizations , all within the Treasure Valley.
ALICE households earn above the poverty line but struggle to afford essentials. In Idaho, 43% of households are ALICE, including 51% of children. Our ALICE reports highlight wage gaps in housing, childcare, food, and more, guiding our financial stability efforts.
This coalition of hospitals and public health agencies conducts a CHNA every three years to identify key health challenges. The latest report focuses on housing, mental health, and access to care, shaping our community investments.
findhelpidaho.org connects users to free and low-cost services in real-time. With over 325,000 searches and 4,400+ programs, it highlights community needs in areas like housing and mental health.

Health is about more than doctor visits; it's about access and trust. Many in the Treasure Valley face preventable illnesses and mental health challenges. We support organizations like Genesis Community Health, which provides free medical services, and the Women’s & Children’s Alliance, offering safety for domestic violence survivors. Our goal is to enhance community health through prevention and care.

Young people thrive with support, but many families face barriers like childcare gaps. We invest in programs like Giraffe Laugh and the Treasure Valley YMCA for early education and childcare. Our support for Big Brothers Big Sisters fosters mentoring relationships, contributing to a comprehensive vision for youth development.

In Idaho, even full-time workers can struggle financially. Our focus is on helping ALICE families build resilience. We partner with organizations like Life’s Kitchen for job readiness and Jesse Tree for rental assistance, ensuring families have the support they need to thrive.

In times of crisis, families need quick solutions. United Way of Treasure Valley responds to urgent needs and prepares communities for the future. We manage findhelpidaho.org to connect individuals with resources and collaborate with partners to ensure effective disaster response and recovery.
A Local Initiative with Statewide Impact
United Way of Treasure Valley is the backbone of the Idaho Coalition for Community Schools (ICCS), transforming schools into community hubs that support children and families. Each school adapts its services to local needs, offering mental health support, housing aid, food resources, and enrichment programs.
