Meet Rhonda Prast, Campaign Cabinet Member!

We are just over half-way through introducing you to our incredible Campaign Cabinet! Today, you get to meet someone really amazing. Rhonda Prast from White Squirrel Video & Media!

Tell us about being on the Campaign Cabinet. What motivated you to want to get involved?
I'm new to the Cabinet and very excited to be part of this dynamic group. Joining them allows me to help the wonderful valley community in a bigger way. I've lived here since the summer of 2016 and I've been a regular volunteer with the Idaho Foodbank and Simply Cats. Robynn reached out to me after talking with Debra Leithauser (my former boss).  I love the group's positivity, passion and energy.

There are so many ways to give back and be involved with charitable organizations. Why do you choose United Way?
I've donated to United Way for years through the workplace campaign and I've always felt compelled to help the community groups that are served by United Way.

Tell us a little about your role with your organization and what you do!
Currently, I'm doing several things: running a new small video business (White Squirrel Video + Media), teaching Media Entrepreneurship for Arizona State University and doing media editing and consultation. Previously, I was the Executive Editor/VP at the Idaho Statesman and I've worked in several management roles in newsrooms across the country. My specialty is digital audience content creation and engagement.

What are you doing when you’re not working your tail off at your place of employment or for United Way?
Reading, hiking, strength training, spending time with friends and family. This summer, I want to take golf lessons. I love to travel around the Northwest - or to any beach destination.
