Will month

70% of Americans do not have a will

United Way wants to help people plan for the future by protecting themselves and their loved ones. And it just so happens that financial stability is one of our three main pillars. We are happy to be able to offer anyone the ability to create their own will quickly, easily, and completely free, thanks to our partnership with FreeWill.

FreeWill is a social venture that was named one of the “50 Top Philanthropists” by Town & Country and has been named by Oprah as one of the best ways to have impact in 2020. FreeWill works with hundreds of the top nonprofits in the country. And it’s completely free!

Share this information with anyone and everyone you know who might need a will; friends, family, co-workers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors. Think big as this offer is available to anyone living in the United States.

You may be thinking, “What’s in this for United Way of Treasure Valley?”
First, it will provide financial stability for your family. Second, when preparing your will, you will be prompted if you would like to leave a gift, a part of your estate, to United Way of Treasure Valley. You can say YES (thank you very much!) or NO with no effect on your ability to continue to prepare your will absolutely free.

So let’s get to it!

Step 1: Log into the program at www.FreeWill.com/UnitedWay

Step 2: Complete the FreeWill process online in about 20 minutes

Step 3: Print out your completed will (maybe two or three copies)

Step 4: Sign all copies in the presence of your witness or notary

Step 5: Keep your signed will in a safe place

August is National Make-a-Will Month!
